It's not much more painful, at least. Not that that's much of a consolation when the tradeoff is being filled with eggs from a species he's not even part of. Or they could be anything, really, he's assuming eggs, as the thought of having living moving fish or other small ocean creatures inside of him is a thought he'd rather not have.

Then again, he didn't want eggs, either.

But by the time he caught onto things being poured inside him, they were already starting to stretch his stomach a little bit.
